Subject: NIOSH Inspections of FO's

Barri-Sue,

The Agency invited members of the COVID-19 Technical Assistance Unit from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to visit four field offices to give SSA feedback on the implementation of our COVID-19 safety measures in accordance with CDC recommendations.  On March 5, 2021, NIOSH representatives plan to visit the Hamilton, OH, Fairmont, WV, Virginia Beach, VA, and Spokane, WA field offices.   If there are more offices added, I will forward them to you.  The exact times have not been confirmed.  I will also forward those as soon as I have them.

These offices provide a range of office sizes and interviewing configurations within the local travel area of the NIOSH representatives, a requirement for the visits.  NIOSH representatives will follow all SSA safety measures during their visits, which we expect to last approximately 1-2 hours.  Some of the NIOSH representatives are also members of the U.S Public Health Service and will be in uniform for the visits.

Local labor relations teams will be working with local Union representatives on invites to inspections.  Results will be provided to the local representatives once they are received.

If you have any questions, please contact John W. Huston, OLMER Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution, at (xxx) xxx-xxxx
